UDF Reader is a driver which let you explore Blu-ray, BD-R, BD-RE and HD-DVD UDF v2.5 discs in Windows XP's file explorer. Right click on thdudf.inf and choose Install. Once this is complete, you should reboot your machine for a full installation of the new UDF 2.5 File system recognition. Universal Disk Format (UDF), a configuration file known as ISO/IEC 13346 and ECMA-167, is an open supplier-neutral file system. It is used to save computer data of various media. Forced scan (defaultvalue Don't apply)

If the selected setting is different from the default value, theprogram will force the drive to scan your disc in order to find thelost files without using the data of system area. We highlyrecommend you to use this only if the inserted disk has not beenrecognized by CDRoller before, and you are also sure the diskcontains the files. This may be useful if the disk was incorrectlyfinalized and system area was not written properly. For example,this problem often occures on Sony Mavica CD when the finalizationstep failed on the camera.

Warning.Please use the forced scan at your own risk. There is no 100%guarantee to retrieve all files from all disks in all cases. Pleasekeep in mind, that some files may be incorrectly written, erased orpartially re-written by a new ones.

Unpack files after forcedscan (default value Unchecked)

If Checked, the programwill try to decode the files found by the forced scan on the diskscompressed by Roxio (Adaptec) DirectCD. The found files can berecovered with the help of RecoverAll, Recover Selected or drag & drop commands in the 'Lostobjects detected...' window.

Load Table Of Contents fromfile (default value Unchecked)

If Checked, you areprompted to select a file with the table of contents of the objectsfound by Scan UDF Disc before, insteadof new scan of your disk.

Always try to identify filetype(default valueChecked)

IfChecked, the program will try to identify the types offound files at the scan stage (preliminary identification). On somediscs and drives this may slow the scan process.

Restore filetree(default valueChecked)

IfChecked, the program tries to restore an original filetree from each found folder after 'Scan UDF Disc' is completed orcanceled. Note. For the damaged discs, we recommend to run the'Scan UDF Disc' twice, with checked and uncheckedoption.

Apply DVDReader(default valueChecked)

IfChecked, the program will try to recognize and verifyDVD (BD, HD-DVD) automatically. IfUnchecked, only CD identification methods will beapplied.

Search of allVATs(default valueUnchecked)

Virtual Allocation Table (VAT) isan important part of the UDF File System. VAT's location is crucialfor CD-R/DVD-R/DVD+R/DVD+R DL disks created with the help of drag& drop software, such as well-known Roxio (Adaptec) DirectCDand Drag-To-Disc. If the VAT can not be found or is corrupted,files will be missing.

If the option isChecked, the program will try tosearchall VATs. This may giveyou a chance to find and recover the files from the previousbackups, including thefiles accidentlydeletedby drag & dropsoftware. If some old VATs are found, the program displayes theirfiles and folders in a separate sessions. Further, all sessions canbe viewed by the built-inSessionSelector.

Always checkfile integrity(defaultvalueChecked)

WhenCheckedthe program always test the file beforedecompression, using the data of file header. If an important filedata seem to not be recovered, try to uncheck this option. Pleasekeep in mind that you may get an unpredictable results, so try thisonly at your own risk.

Always readFull TOC(default valueChecked)

Try touncheckthis box if CDRoller seems to hang up your systemwhen analyzing the disc. This problem can be caused by DVD43 driverinstalled in your system. This driver is bundled with some DVDprograms (DVD Idle Pro or DVD Region), and can prevent a normalwork of CDRoller.
