This wiki aims to describe the locations of the Crystal Reports Report Designer Component (RDC) runtime for versions 8.5 and earlier to version 12.0. A wiki describing runtimes for Visual Studio .NET can be found at this link:

Note, that the RDC has been retired and therefore does not ship with Crystal Reports 2008 (v 12.0). Also, note that the method of distributing the CR RDC runtime has evolved from the use of .DEP files (pre CR 8.5) to the exclusive use of merge modules (post CR 9.2).
Crystal Reports version 8.0.x and earlier used the .DEP files (craxdrt.dep, craxddrt.dep and crviewer.dep) exclusively. DEP files were typically used by the VB 6 Deployment and Packaging Wizard. Merge modules were first available with Crystal Reports 8.5. However, these merge modules were only available with the Wise Installer, version 4.x.
Note, that while the .DEP files did ship with CR 10.0.x, XI r1 and XI r2, these were not supported for distribution. With a bit of work, you could modify CR 10 .DEP files to create a successful deployment package, however this was not possible in any way with CR XI r1 or r2.
You will also find that the craxddrt.dll and crviewer.dll ships with all bundled versions of Crystal Reports (CR 9.1, 10.2 and 10.5). However the files are only included for integration into the VS .NET IDE and are not licensed for development.
